Southwick Beer Festival offers free beer to early arrivals

The 11th annual Southwick Beer Festival takes place at Southwick Community Centre and Barn Theatre, in Southwick Street, Southwick, on Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24.

It will be raising money for the Southwick Community Association, to improve facilities at the community centre.

More than 60 real ales and ciders will be on offer, as well as alternative refreshments, a wide choice of freshly-cooked food and live musical entertainment.

The Barn stage will feature Dirty Shoes, one of the most popular rock bands on the south coast, on the Friday night.

The band No Fit State will play on the Saturday afternoon and on the Saturday night, the Barn sees the return of KXB, local rock legends and beer festival icons.

Tickets are available for three sessions, Friday, May 23, 4.30pm to 11pm; Saturday, May 24, midday to 5.30pm; Saturday, May 24, 6.30pm to 11pm.

Friday and Saturday night tickets are £5 in advance, £6 on the door. Tickets for Saturday afternoon are £5, both in advance and on the door.

There will be one free pint on entry before 5.30pm for the Friday session.

Tickets are available from the centre office on 01273 592819, Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm, or from the Barn box office on 01273 597094, Monday to Friday 7.30pm to 9pm.

Individuals and businesses are invited to sponsor a cask for £50, which will include the sponsor’s name on a cask, an entry in the festival programme and two complimentary tickets for one session.
