SNOW DAY: Updates in West Sussex – Wednesday, December 1

Roads have been gritted but continuous snow fall overnight has left some minor roads with slippery surface slush.

Roads have been gritted but continuous snow fall overnight has left some minor roads with slippery surface slush.

Steyning Grammar School; Rydon Community College in Storrington and Herons Dale School in Shoreham will not open today.

West Sussex Adult & Community Learning Centres in Storrington and Steyning are closed.

Additional school closures mid-morning include Cornfield School, Littlehampton; St Philip’s Catholic Primary School, Arundel and Thakeham First School, Pulborough.

Further school closures updated at 12.15pm today are: Ashington CofE First School, Pulborough and St Andrew’s C of E High School for Boys, Worthing.

Worthing High School closed at 1pm.

Vale School in Findon Valley is closing at 2.30pm and will remain closed on Thursday, December 2.

West Sussex County Council has advised people to clear the pavements in front of their homes and council workers will concentrate on the roads.

There are severe delays and cancellations on Southern Railway services.

All Brighton to West Worthing rail shuttle services are cancelled.

The 15 minutes past the hour service from Littlehampton to Victoria has also been cancelled until 8.15pm.

Victoria to Littlehampton services via Hove at 47 minutes past the hour are cancelled between Haywards Heath and Littlehampton.

Tonight the 6.17pm, 7.17pm and 8.17pm services from Victoria to Littlehampton will call at Three Bridges and run to Littlehampton without splitting at Haywards Heath.

Stagecoach bus services around Worthing are delayed.

The 6.30pm and 6.45pm services from Victoria to Brighton will stop at East Croydon. The 6.36pm Victoria to Brighton service has been cancelled.
