Sixth-formers to question parliamentary candidates

Sixth-form students at Shoreham Academy have been preparing questions to put to the area's parliamentary candidates.

All seven candidates - Sophie Cook (Labour), Mike Glennon (UKIP), Leslie Groves Williams (Green Party), Oli Henman (Liberal Democrat), Tim Loughton (Conservative), Andy Lutwyche (Independent), Carl Walker (National Health Action) - are scheduled to take part in a Candidates Question Time in the academy library on Tuesday (June 6).

The event was organised by sixth-former Erin Garratt and will run from 3-4.30pm.

A spokesman said: "First of all the candidates will have about two minutes to talk about who they are and their party.

"This will be followed by a question time. Some of our students have already submitted their questions and the candidates will each be given about two minutes to respond."
