Ella Collins-Godden, of Williams Road, has been shortlisted for the model award and the inspirational beauty queen award, both in the under 17 category, in the Natural Sparkle Awards, which will take place on Saturday, December 3.

Ella said she started competing in pageants after experiencing bullying and has gone on to win numerous titles, including royal UK teen earlier this year – which means she will represent the UK in America next year.

The 16-year-old, who is now homeschooled, has featured in several national newspapers and magazines, has recently landed a lead role in a British movie and has been asked to audition for a Broadway talent agency next year.

Ella said: “While I was experiencing bullying I never imagined I would be competing in international pageants or appearing in national press.

“But competing in pageants have opened so many doors for me and to be nominated for these awards was such a shock!”

She was also honoured with a Recognition Award by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service this year thanks to her fundraising efforts for the Firefighters Charity.

Sara Collins, Ella’s mum, said: “To be nominated for awards is a huge honour and one Ella really appreciates.

“Ella works so hard to achieve her dreams, ignoring all the negativity she receives from cyber bullies, and to have her work recognised is a huge achievement.”
