A kayaker who fell into the sea off Worthing was rescued by a lifeboat crew on Sunday.
The all-weather Shoreham RNLI lifeboat was launched shortly before 2pm and the crew located the man in the water one mile south of Splash Point.
A lifeboat spokeswoman said: “He was clinging to his friend’s kayak. They had gone out paddling earlier in a kayak each to go fishing. He was extremely cold and distressed and he was taken aboard the lifeboat and given first aid.
“He was taken back to the station where an ambulance crew was waiting to treat him. Two of the lifeboat crew were left in the inflatable Y boat with the man’s kayak and the lifeboat returned to collect them and the boats.”
