THE Shoreham Tamar class lifeboat was launched at 12.15pm on Saturday to a 30ft yacht, which had suffered steering failure just east of the Shoreham Harbour entrance.

The vessel, which had two people on board was taken under tow into the harbour.

The lifeboat returned to station for a few hours before it was launched again at 4.35pm to a report of a windsurfer in difficulty south of Carats Café, Southwick.

By the time the lifeboat crew arrived, it was established he was not in trouble and was ok. The lifeboat returned to station.
