The Adur Planning Committee approved an application for eight signs to advertise the building, three of which would be internally lit, on Monday evening.

Two illuminated signs will be located on the northern and western sides of the building, with another above the main entrance, and five non-illuminated free standing signs around the building.

The latest application is a result of negotiations following a previous refusal.

“The signage is now quite different”, said planning officer Gary Peck, who confirmed that the signs would only be lit during operating hours.

Manor councillor Carol Albury described the plans as a “great improvement”.

The committee granted permission with only Southlands councillor Ken Bishop abstaining.
