SHOREHAM Bonfire Society has been forced to cancel tomorrow night’s extravaganza.
High winds are forecast, making it too dangerous to launch a firework display on Shoreham Beach.
Stuart Lanham, one of the organisers, said: “We have just heard from our professional firework company that the predicted weather conditions are too dangerous to launch a firework display – strong and gusty inland winds (the worst combination for our location).
“Given the exposed bonfire location facing similar issues, we think it is only right that we cancel tomorrow.
“While it was always a possibility, it doesn’t make it any less devastating after so much work.”
