Ella Collins-Godden, of Williams Road, won the title of Royal UK last summer and will represent the UK at the Royal International finals in Florida in July.

Half the funds raised from her Easthill Challenge on Sunday, April 16, will go toward Coastal West Sussex MIND and the other half will go to Ella’s pageant fund.

“I am so proud to be representing my country and being recognised as a role model for other teens.” said the home-schooled teen.

“My dream has been to compete at an international pageant and now I have that opportunity!”

She said she chose to fundraise for MIND because she feels ‘passionately’ about mental health.

“Still too much stigma is attached to the issue, and MIND works tirelessly to lift that stigma, support those affected and educate,” she said.

Sara Collins, Ella’s mum, said: “Without the help from Ella’s sponsors and supporters, she won’t be able to compete to the level she would like.

“Any funds raised will go towards outfits, optional rounds, living expenses and all those little extras that build up!

“We are so lucky to have this opportunity and Ella really wants to do the best she possibly can for everyone.”

Ella will be joined in the challenge by Stever Beer from Channel 5’s Too Fat To Work.

Steve and his wife, Michelle, shot to fame after appearing on the TV programme and a subsequent programme, Fat Off Fit On, in which they trained with fitness and nutritional experts.

Steve, 46, explained, “We are continuing to work towards losing weight, and decided to support Ella’s pageant journey and charity fundraising efforts at the same time.”

Ella is asking anyone who wants to join the challenge to pay a £5 entry fee, which will be refunded if £50 sponsorship money is raised.

Entrants who complete the challenge will receive a ‘#teamella medal & certificate’ before enjoying a picnic on top of the hill.
