Shoreham Allstars raise money for Lancing charity

YOUNGSTERS rocked hard in a “guitarchestra” and concert in aid of Electric Storm Youth.

The children, from Shoreham Allstars, performed at the Shoreham Centre, in Pond Lane, on Saturday (March 5) to raise more than £100 for the charity planning to build an activity centre in the grounds of what was Freshbrook First School, Lancing.

During the evening, 25 youths performed music by The Kinks and Kings of Leon in a three-minute “guitarchestra”, before seven other Allstars bands performed.

Organiser and musician David O’Connell said: “It was quite mad. We did not practise, so we just went for it. There is no space to get 25 kids in one place to practise, so I taught their pieces separately in guitar lessons and hoped for the best.”
