One on the airfield will be a raffle offering the winner two tickets for a VIP day out with the Red Arrows as their guest.

The winner will attend the briefings at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire, watch the practise displays and take lunch with the team.

The second is a text competition, offering a 20-minute flight in a two-seat Spitfire, with the Aircraft Restoration Company.

The new features are all part of making this year’s event just that little bit special.

Air show press officer John Periam said: “We won a lot of awards last year, including the Best Community Event in the Herald and Gazette Community Stars Awards and Best Family Airshow in Aeroplane Magazine.

“It is going to be a hard act for people to follow but we are sure with what is going to go on that we will do just that.”
