Ella, who attends Shoreham Academy, said: “I was horribly bullied for two years, and decided I wanted to take part in modelling and beauty pageants to try to rebuild my self-confidence and self-esteem. My mum and dad had their initial concerns, but have been really supportive. I took part in my first beauty pageant in March this year and with the support from my school and family, I have gained so much confidence.”

During her singathon, Ella sang a selection of songs by Adele, Emilie Sande and Demi Lovato and she raised more than £79.

Diane Blackmore, chief executive of Follow Your Dreams, added: “We are absolutely thrilled by the work Ella has done to fundraise for our charity. It is vital that we reach out to children so that they understand the difficulties children and young people with learning disabilities face, day in day out.”

The manager of the Shoreham Centre, David Frost, said: “The Shoreham Centre is very pleased to be associated with Ella and her enthusiastic fundraising efforts.

“She is an inspiration to people of all ages, not just her peer group, and long may she continue helping others.”
