SANTA is taking a sleigh ride across Adur to bring some Christmas cheer to the community.
Shoreham and Southwick Rotary Club’s annual collection will be raising money for Christmas gifts to spread goodwill to people in need.
Santa will ride again on a tour of the streets of Shoreham, as well as visiting Christmas shopping events in Lancing, Shoreham and Southwick.
Sleigh dates are as follows:-
Monday, December 8, east Shoreham, Middle Road, Stoney Lane area, with the Shoreham RNLI Lifeboat crew doing the collecting.
Tuesday, December 9, The Drive and Buckingham Farm estate area.
Wednesday, December 10, Connaught Avenue and Greenacres area.
Thursday, December 11, Hammy Lane, Mansell Road and Middle Road area.
Friday, December 12, Greenways Crescent and Herbs Estate area.
Saturday, December 13, Nicholson Drive, central Shoreham and St Giles Close area.
Monday, December 15, Shoreham Beach area, with the help of the Shoreham RNLI Lifeboat crew again.
In addition this year, Rotarians will be helping and collecting at the Adur Sea of Lights festival in Lancing on December 6.
The sleigh will also be at Southwick Christmas Festival, in Square on Saturday, November 29, 10am to 4pm; at Shoreham Farmers’ Market on Saturday, December 13; and at the Holmbush Shopping Centre on Saturday, December 20, along with a choir.
The sleigh was given a makeover in 2012, having been bringing Christmas cheer to the Shoreham area for more than 40 years.
A new sound system was installed, a Christmas tree was donated and Dan Jenkins and Northbrook College prop-making students, led by Stephanie Farmer, built two new reindeers. They were then named Glitzen Sparkle and Snowbell Star following a competition in the Herald.
