More than 30 Royal Yachting Association certificates were presented to young members by special guest Katie Sellar.

A former member of the Adur Centre Sailing Club herself, Katie has just achieved a first class honours degree in Nautical Science from Plymouth University and she took time to relate some of her experiences and adventures.

Presentations of shields and trophies were also made to young members.

The Novice Cup for best First Season Sailor was awarded to Aditi Mehta, while her younger sister Ananya was runner-up.

The Kolmi Shield was presented to Alfie Gee as the Best Sailor of the season while Orla Mohammed was presented with a new shield, the Tucknott Trophy.

Ted founded the Adur Boat Club in 1975.

However, after 39 years Ted feels it is time for shore leave and has passed the helm to the new chairman, Ian Brownbill.

The Adur Centre Sailing Club will open its doors again next March.
