TWO women were attacked and hundreds of pounds stolen as they were closing up a Shoreham shop for the night.
One of the women was struck in the face as two teenagers in balaclavas forced their way into the One Stop shop in Buckingham Road on Wednesday at 11pm.
As the two members of staff, both aged in their 30s, were closing the door, they were pushed back into the shop and ordered to hand over cash.
Both were threatened and one was struck in the face before several hundreds of pounds were stolen.
Police are now seeking witnesses to the robbery.
Two men in their late teens, both wearing balaclavas and hoods but otherwise casually dressed, are suspected.
One is thought to be white, 5ft 11in, of slim build, and the other possibly black, 5ft 6in to 5ft 8in, also slim.
A man wearing a hat and a knee-length coat, and carrying a satchel bag, is known to have been in the area at the time and may have seen the incident.
Anyone witnesses are asked to email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 101, quoting serial 1607 of 10/12.
