Roadworks for Sussex next week

Planned roadworks Sussex from Monday (11 April) to Sunday 17 April.

The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 8 April but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

M23 junction 8 – 9 Gatwick: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the carriageway will start this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 4am, from Wednesday 13 April for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A22 and the A264.

A21 Hurst Green, East Sussex: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys on the A21 at Hurst Green will start this week. Convoys will be in place between the A229 and the Church overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 11 April for 2 nights.

A27 Offington Corner, West Sussex: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by carrying out resurfacing will start this week. The westbound carriageway towards Grove Lodge and eastbound towards Clapham junction will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Monday 11 April for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27 and A24.

A27 Falmer Footbridge, East Sussex: bridge maintenance

Work to replace the ramp on the footbridge over the A27 at Falmer continues this week.

Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit remain in place on the westbound carriageway and the outside lane of the westbound exit slip road remains closed until the end of the scheme. Work is due to be complete in May 2016.

A27 Southwick Tunnel, West Sussex: routine maintenance

Work to maintain journeys by carrying out routine maintenance on the A27 at Southwick Tunnel will start this week. The carriageway will be closed in both directions overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Friday 15 April for 2 consecutive nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A270 and the A293.
