Refuse and recycling update for the Steyning area

THERE are still some changes to the Acorn Plus household refuse and recycling collections in the Horsham district, following the Christmas and new year period.

For full information, householders are encouraged to use the personalised collection calendar on the Horsham District Council website (www.horsham.gov.uk/bincalendar).

Brown-topped bin collections for green garden waste have been suspended and will resume again on Wednesday, January 8.

On any of those scheduled brown-topped bin collection days, residents can put their blue-topped bins out for an additional recycling collection.

Collection days have been revised as follows:-

Normal collection day today (Thursday) moved to Saturday.

Tomorrow moved to Tuesday.

Tuesday moved to Wednesday.

Wednesday moved to Thursday, January 9.

Thursday, January 9, moved to Friday, January 10.

Friday, January 10, moved to Saturday, January 11.

All collections resume normal schedules from Tuesday, January 14.

Recycling tips:-

Remove any bows, ribbons and excess sellotape before putting wrapping paper in to the blue-lidded bins for recycling. Foil and plastic wrapping paper cannot be recycled.

Christmas cards and gift tags can be recycled, just remove the string first.

Artificial Christmas Trees cannot be recycled, but real Christmas trees can be disposed of at the local household waste recycling site, or cut in to pieces and placed in the brown-lidded bin.
