Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) awarded a five-year £235 million MSK contract to private provider Bupa CSH Ltd instead of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Worthing and St Richard’s Hospitals, prompting fears wider hospital services could be affected.

The CCG and the trust have recently jointly commissioned an in-depth impact assessment looking into the effect the decision will have on the two hospitals.

The St Paul’s Arts Centre, in Chapel Road, Worthing, will play host to ‘Lets Talk About: A&E SOS – Is Worthing Hospital For Sale?’ from 7.30pm until 10pm.

Speakers include Patricia Morfitt, senior physiotherapist at Worthing Hospital; Daniel Parsonage, Green Party candidate for Central ward; Dr Lucy Reynolds, health policy analyst, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; and Dr Carl Walker, chair of the European Community Psychology Association task force on austerity and mental health and National Health Action Party.
