Programme helps cancer sufferers in West Sussex

CANCER patients in the West Sussex area can now access a wide range of support, thanks to a dedicated programme based in Chichester.

The Cancer Survivorship Programme was set up by Sam Watts and aims to inform cancer patients about the different avenues of complementary cancer support available, such as mind- body medicine techniques, psychological support, nutrition, exercise and meditation.

The idea is to equip patients so they can better manage the physical, psychological and emotional side effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Mr Watts, who is also the programme’s director, said it was dedicated to empowering patients.

“There is a huge amount of research and evidence showing that cancer patients who actively adopt complementary techniques during their treatment see undeniable results,” he explained.

“The CSP offers patients the means to introduce the most effective of these treatments alongside their conventional cancer care.”

The programme offers various options including an eight-week course and tailored one-to-one intensive sessions.
