Popular DVD store Tomorrow’s World closes in Worthing, Lancing and Southwick just days after Blockbuster’s demise

A POPULAR DVD rental company with four stores across the area has announced its shock closure after 30 years of trading.

Tomorrow’s World, which had outlets in Lancing, Goring, Southwick, and Hove, said online competitors had “destroyed its business” and reluctantly forced it to shut its doors.

After three decades of being in the area, the company’s management said it had been an extremely difficult decision to shut its doors, but that it had been left with no option .

It will result in five full time and 19 part-time jobs being lost. The news comes just days after confirmation that Blockbuster in Chapel Road, Worthing has been axed, after seemingly having gained a reprieve amid a major cull of its nationwide branches.
