Pop-up Sompting café could help save you cash

A POP-UP café could help residents in and around Sompting prop up their bank balances – by providing cash-saving tips on cutting energy costs.

Your Energy Sussex and Communities Matter will be launching its first session at the Big Local Hub, in Cokeham Parade, tomorrow (Tuesday, July 14) with more events planned at the centre on July 21 and 28.

The aim is to offer free advice to residents on reducing their energy bills.

The scheme is run with the support of West Sussex County Council.

The authority’s leader, Louise Goldsmith, said: “We want to help our residents, particularly those on low incomes, which include the young and old, to live in energy efficient warm homes, and not to be worried about putting on the heating.

“Although we are encouraged to shop around to get the best energy deal, the process can seem confusing. That’s where Your Energy Sussex can help by offering straightforward advice in your community.”

Future sessions are due to take place on each Tuesday, until July 28, from 10am to 4pm.
