Adur and Worthing Councils have joined several partner organisations to create Help to Work – a one-stop-shop for people to get employment advice, access job hunting resources and guidance around training and apprenticeships.

HMRC figures show more than six per cent of Adur and Worthing’s workforce are claiming income support, compared to the 5.5 per cent average for West Sussex.

“Our aim is to support people to find alternative employment – or pursue other opportunities such as re-training.”

Help to Work is part of a wider package of council support, including training for businesses going through redundancies and the Government’s Kickstart scheme, helping young people on universal credit to gain employment.
