Trees for Shade project launches in West Sussex
The county council is working with Southern Water on the Trees for Shade project, aimed at helping schools and community groups to cut their carbon footprint.
“It will give schools and communities the opportunity to reduce their carbon emissions by planting trees, also providing shade from the sun during the summer months,” said a statement by the county council.

Eighty-nine schools benefited from the scheme before it initially ended in 2009.
