Worthing Borough Council has taken ownership of the Montague Centre car park in Liverpool Gardens, after many years of it being run by NSP and CP Plus.

The council has reminded drivers they will now have to pay for their stay on arrival, rather than at the end as has previously been the case.

There will be no changes to tariffs at the 120-space car park, according to the council, which will remain operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Customers can pay at dedicated machines, by phone or via the council's MiPermit app.

Blue badge holders may park for free for a maximum of three hours if their vehicle is parked in a designated disabled bay with a valid blue badge and clock set at the time of arrival clearly displayed.

To coincide with the change of ownership, the council's contractors carried out a series of improvements to the car park this weekend. This included repainting bay lines.
