Adur District Council proposes to reclassify its current staff car park to the north of Ham Road as a public car park and introduce charges and season tickets there.

The charges would apply Monday to Saturday apart from bank holidays from 9am-5pm, ranging from £3 for the entire day, 25p for up to 30 minutes, and 50p for up to an hour.

Season tickets would be £35 monthly and £100 quarterly.

West Sussex County Council’s Adur County Local Committee approved proposals to reclassify the car park last Thursday.

Several residents expressed the hope that it would relieve commuter parking problems in roads near the station including Queen’s Place, Gordon Road, Victoria Road and Buckingham Road.
