Crime scene investigator Chris Gee said that CCTV footage taken from the night it happened showed a few cars driving past and stopping nearby.

He realised that Durrington Community Centre is in the vicinity, which is a Pokéstop in the popular mobile game.

This means that users can collect Pokéballs and items on the app by visiting the community centre in real life.

He said: “This happened at about ten to one in the morning and lots of cars were going past.”

“Let us know if you saw anything. Did you see anyone putting on any kind of clothing or gear? Did you see a car in the area that was acting suspiciously? If so, give us a ring.”
