Playwright needs actor for reading

SHOREHAM playwright Jennifer Pulling is urgently looking for an actor for a rehearsed reading of her latest production.

A successful writer over several genres, Jennifer is finalising her new piece, Swallow, ahead of a run in London.

“We need on actor, in early middle age, for a rehearsed reading,” she explained.

“This is the last run-through before the production goes to London.

“It is all hanging on finding an actor for the evening.”

The Writers Room, in Richmond Road, Brighton, is booked for the rehearsed reading on Saturday, March 29, at 7.30pm.

The play follows the Cassone family and centres on the short period of a few days, when dissatisfaction, unrealised dreams and deception come to the surface.

To the outside world, the Cassone family is happy and united in running a successful bakery.

Husband Salvatore, in his 50s, is dedicated to carrying on the Sicilian family business he inherited, with the support of his English wife, Angela, in her late 40s, and their children, Chiara, 23, and Marco, 19.

But beneath the surface, an emotional volcano is preparing to erupt.
