Planners to consider Lidl plan for Shoreham store

PLANS for a new Lidl store in Shoreham will be considered by Adur planners on Monday.

The discount food store wants to take over the site of former BOC Edwards units at Malthouse Trading Estate, in Brighton Road, Shoreham.

Two existing units would be demolished and a new store built, together with a 97-space car park.

It is recommended Adur District Council’s planning committee delegates the decision to the planning services manager, with a view to approval subject to a Section 106 agreement and the outcome of referral to the Secretary of State.

Three more plans are on the agenda and all are recommended for approval.

Pursuit Properties has applied to demolish the bungalow at 17 Old Fort Road, Shoreham, and replace it with a two-storey, four-bedroom house with parking.

Hargreaves Management is seeking permission for the change of use of 30-40 Dolphin Road, Shoreham, from general industrial use to flexible use for offices, general industry, or storage and distribution.

There is also a plan to change the use of Edgars Cool Water, in New Wharf, Brighton Road, Shoreham, from a distribution centre to a warehouse, shop and offices for butcher Malpass Direct.

The committee will meet at Adur Civic Centre, in Ham Road, Shoreham, at 7pm.
