A spokesperson from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that they received a call from the ambulance service to St David’s Gate, Lancing and arrived at just after noon.

The fire service sent two engines from Shoreham and Worthing and three members of the technical rescue unit to aid in the recovery.

According to the fire service spokesperson, it was decided that the safest way to remove them from the building was via an aerial ladder platform rather than down the stairs.
