Worthing’s coronavirus cycle lanes halve the A24 - in pictures

Emergency cycle lanes put in place as part of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic have taken out two lanes of the A24 in Worthing.

West Sussex County Council delivered huge swathes of funding for emergency cycle lanes across the county, designed to get people feeling safe on their bikes and lowering the burden on public transport. Worthing’s temporary lanes have seen large chunks of the A24, from the Grove Lodge roundabout into the town centre, hemmed off by orange bollards. These pictures show traffic appears to be coping so far, but the real tests are likely to come during peak times.
