The town featured on a list by Far & Wide, a US-based travel website, alongside more exotic locations.

According to the website, the cliffs of Sussex’s coastline make for ‘a spectacular view out to sea, particularly at sunset when the sun’s rays swirl into pinks and oranges’.

The white of the cliffs sets the canvas for ‘a beautiful showing of colour’, it adds.

It recommends the cliffs between Seaford and Beachy Head as the best ‘nature spot’ for coastal views at sunset.

But it recommends The Crab Shack in Worthing, a seafood restaurant and beach bar in Marine parade, as the best bar from which to watch the view.

“The Crab Shack in Worthing has a beautiful outdoor terrace that spills directly out onto the beach,” it says. “It’s the perfect place to sip a pint or a glass of wine, while simultaneously drinking in the views.”
