Sussex gamer uses The Sims 4 to recreate Friends, Harry Potter and iconic TV show sets

A gamer from Sussex has recreated several famous TV and film sets on The Sims 4.

With time on his hands during the lockdown, Ollie Armitage-Saunders, 26, from Chichester built the houses from scratch for a virtual pub quiz with his friends. They had to guess what show or film each one was from and were bowled over by his efforts. The veterinary receptionist, who now lives in Southsea with his husband George, spent around six hours a day for a week to complete the ‘sets’, which include 4 Privet Drive from Harry Potter, 742 Evergreen Terrace from The Simpsons, houses from the Vicar of Dibley, Absolutely Fabulous and Kath and Kim, and the set of Friends. He said: “There’s such a massive Sims community worldwide so finding and using people’s custom content to bring your own builds to life is really awesome. The Sims have definitely kept me somewhat sane during my furlough and these troublesome and scary times.” He said the Friends set ‘definitely took the longest but was by far the most fun to build’, and used photos he found online to model his creations on. He said: “It’s fun searching for the best matching wallpapers, objects, furniture and trying to get them down to a T.” Ollie’s latest endeavour for their next pub quiz has been recreating past contestants from The X Factor.
