Shoreham Lifeboat Station celebrates 150 years


The celebrations for Shoreham Lifeboat Station’s 150th anniversary continued with a regatta this weekend.

There was a Victorian pulling lifeboat on display at the Shoreham farmers market yesterday (June 13) with crew dressed in kit from old and modern times.

Today was a regatta off Kingston Beach where with a Victorian pulling boat being launched and rowed and the Shoreham all weather and inshore lifeboats.

Crowds enjoyed the show as flank stations, Brighton, Newhaven and Littlehampton and the coastguard all re-enacted a rescue scenario.
