In 2011, Arun District Council received a planning application for more than 1,200 new homes and facilities including a care home, primary school, power plant and community centre north of Toddington Lane, with a new Lyminster bypass linking to Fitzalan Road. The first two project phases are complete and the first road is almost all occupied, the council said.
