Much loved Brighton area concert promoter launches Crowdfunding appeal in order to get through coronavirus crisis

They are Brighton’s longest-running live music promoter operating on a passion for arts and culture and a shoestring budget and, like many cultural organisations have been hit hard by the coronavirus lock down.

They launched a Crowdfunding appeal on May 1 with the aim of securing an essential £15,000 to keep going.

Eliza Skelton said: “As a small independent business operating on tight margins, we are struggling to meet our outgoings during this prolonged period of live music silence and we are asking for your vital donations to help us through this juncture so we can see you on the other side and celebrate some first-rate live music together.

“With only a few days left of our Crowdfunder Campaign and almost half the target raised we are hoping you will help us to spread the word further afield.

“Melting Vinyl would like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who has contributed and shared our Crowdfunder campaign so far, we have been completely overwhelmed by the support and generosity.

“As our Crowdfunder draws to a close we still urgently need donations. Every single penny counts so please, if you can, dig a little deeper, donate and share with your friends and family.”

She added: “Amongst our proudest achievements is the long collaboration with, and curation of, the gloriously unique live music venue that is St George’s Church - historical, spiritual and still operating in its traditional role, it is a jewel in the heart of Kemptown in Brighton. From Bat For Lashes to Patti Smith, Melting Vinyl has hosted some incredible artists in this beautifully rare, heritage space.”
