Lancing digital artist captures Captain Sir Tom Moore’s ‘great spirit’ in portrait

A portrait of the late Captain Sir Tom Moore drawn by a digital artist from Lancing received a huge response on social media.

Chloe Mayfield’s drawing of the centenarian got hundreds of likes and comments on Facebook.

The portrait took the 22-year-old 32 hours to draw using an ipad, which she said was ‘quite good for me’.

Chloe said Sir Tom’s fundraising efforts during lockdown, which raised almost £33m for NHS charities, were ‘amazing’.

“It’s a shame he had to do it, the NHS should be funded by other people,” she said.

“It’s still amazing. I don’t think I’ll be doing that when I’m 100 years old.

“He has great spirit.”

She is hoping to gift the portrait to a charity.
