Kirsty Allsop-inspired art for Worthing charity prompts appeal for used postage stamps

Inspired by Kirsty Allsop, operations manager Tracy Cadman has been getting creative in lockdown, using her spare time to make pictures to raise funds.

She has now put out an appeal for more used stamps, asking people to donate a them by posting them or dropping them off to the headquarters in Ferring.

Tracy, who lives in Shoreham, said: “I originally saw an example of stamp art on the Kirsty Allsop TV programme that was broadcast at the start of lockdown, Keep Crafting and Carry On, and loved the effect, so decided to give it a go. “One of my team then suggested that we might be able to raise funds for Wadars by selling some of the pictures and so the idea grew.”

Tracy has created a range of pictures using old postage stamps and, having been manager at Wadars for the past four years, is only too keen to help the charity recoup some of the money it has lost due to the vast majority of fundraising events being cancelled during the Covid-19 pandemic.

She has developed several designs, which she is working on, but is in desperate need of more stamps.

Tracy said: “I’m more than happy to buy the frames myself as a donation to Wadars and, of course, creating the pictures is all done in my spare time but without more stamps, I’m going to be limited in how many I can produce.

“If anyone has used stamps that they could donate to Wadars for this project, we would be extremely grateful.”
