Handmade quilts to be auctioned at Steyning shop for hospice funds

Two handmade autumnal-themed quilts have been donated to the St Barnabas House shop in Steyning to help raise funds for the hospice.

Made by the Steyning’s Christ the King Church Quilters Group, the quilts will be put up for a silent auction and displayed in the High Street shop between Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 10.

Each group member handstitched a ‘block’ or square which were all put together, by member Sandi Dibb, to form the quilts named ‘Autumn Fruits’ and ‘Fruit Baskets’,

Sandi said: “We have not been able to meet as a group in recent months, so these quilts were a lovely way of coming together on a project.

“We have supported St Barnabas House over many years and decided to donate them as a way of continuing our support.

“We hope they raise as much as possible”.

There is a reserve price of £125 for each quilt and bids can be made in the shop.
