East Worthing’s Elvis Presley croons for the NHS

A 58-year-old Brighton railway station worker, who is aptly named Elvis Presley, has been performing hits by the King from a make-shift stage in his East Worthing living room in aid of the NHS.

Mr Presley has been broadcasting his Saturday-evening shows live on his Facebook page and has raised more than £300 for the NHS so far.

He has created a mini-stage from pallets and sets the mood with disco lighting, against a backdrop of NHS posters created by one of his colleagues.

His wife of 26 years, Fiona Presley, said: “He just wanted to do his bit to help. It’s good fun and for a good cause.”

During these strange times and with everyone stuck at home at the weekend, and said of the Saturday-night shows: “It’s a way of keeping us all together.”

Performing Elvis’ hits at events or on holiday is a great hobby of Mr Presley, who is a huge fan of the singer and whose favourite tune to croon is ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love with You’.
