Dogs Trust Shoreham dog of the week: Sensitive collie crossbreed Bobby

This smart four-year-old enjoys interacting with people and has been doing well in reward-based training.

Dogs Trust Shoreham is not currently rehoming due to the government limitations but wishes to maintain public awareness of the dogs that will need rehoming once restrictions lift.

Tracey Rae, rehoming centre manager, said: “A personal favourite of his is the ‘who’s your best friend?’ trick, where he responds to the verbal queue by pointing at his carer with his paws.

“Bobby is now searching for a new best friend, someone who could continue with his ongoing training programmes and help to build up his confidence.

“He’d love to join a family who lead a quieter lifestyle, ideally living in a rural location, away from the hustle and bustle of busy town centres or roads, and where he has access to remote walking areas. An adult-only household, with minimal visitors and where he could be the only pet, would be perfect.”

A home within an hour’s drive of the Brighton Road centre is preferred, so the new owners can make regular visits to get to know Bobby, and then receive support from the training team once he is in the home.
