The black and white kitten was discovered in the Littlehampton area and is currently being looked after by PAWS Animal Sanctuary in Findon, following treatment by Vets4Pets.

Jade Mills, head nurse at Vets4pets, located inside Pets at Home in Worthing, said: “PAWS Animal Sanctuary was given a call and Stacey – from the charity – was told they do not know who it belongs to.

“No-one was claiming it was theirs so Stacey took it in – she is a lovely lady.”

The female kitten had a badly broken front leg and the animal sanctuary has covered all the vet bills.

Vets have no idea how the kitten, which is not microchipped, came to being outside and sustaining the injury.

“There was no puncture wound, so it does not suggest it was another animal, and there was no trauma to the kitten to suggest being hit by a car,” said Jade.

“She was really tiny, she is only three months old.

“It will take about four to six weeks for the leg to heal,” Jade added. “She seems really contented now we have repaired it and she is healing really well.

As no-one knows the kitten’s name she has been named Eimear after one of the vets.
