A flaming object was seen falling from the sky in Sussex.

Angela Thomson and her daughter saw the object blazing across the sky between Hastings and Rye from their home on Sunday night (June 21).

She described it as ‘falling from the sky’ and added: “My daughter took pictures of something in the sky at around 9.15PM.

“We are in Icklesham and the picture was taken towards the Brede Valley.”

Richard Gatley wrote: “The ‘fiery object’ in your recent article is clearly an aircraft contrail illuminated by evening sunlight.”

Andy Clarke added: “I may not be the only one unused to seeing aeroplanes these days! 

“It was the sunset lighting up the contrail from below of Air Canada from Zurich to Montreal.”
