Baby of the Year winners receive their trophies

THERE was great excitement when three tiny tots arrived at the Herald and Gazette offices on to each receive a trophy.

The trio were the winners of each of the three categories in our 2011 Baby of the Year competition, having received the most votes from readers.

In the 0 to nine months category, the winner was Freddie Harding, who is now 11 months old.

His mum, Jasmine Harding, 28, of Buci Crescent, Shoreham, said: “We were really pleased when he won.

People do always tell us he is cute.”

Max Smith was the winner of the 10 to 18 months category.

The 16-month-old’s mum, Amber Pine, 22, of Cheviot Close, East Preston, said: “We were really surprised when he won.

“I think I screamed down the phone at the poor girl who called me.

“I think I might enter him into more baby competitions now.”

The final winner was two-year-old Olivia Channon, in the 19 to 36 months category.

The bubbly toddler was thrilled with her trophy, and said she wanted to show it to her friends and family.

Her mum, Stacey May, 24, of Chippers Road, Worthing, said: “She will be taking it to nursery with her, I think, so she can show all her friends.

“We were really excited when we found out she had won.”

All the winners also received a framed copy of their winning photograph.
