Passionate players earn new kit with plea

Southwick Rangers FC won a national competition to become one of five team sports stars.

The team will receive a Character Building Sports Stars sponsored football kit, having impressed the panel of judges with its heartfelt application.

The club said it had struggled for funding to provide new kits for all of its teams.

Club secretary Sara Tuffin said: “The boys at the club really have a passion for football and attend week in, week out without question.

“As a local club, we do struggle for funding and some of our players wear kits that are several years old, so to have won a Sports Stars sponsored kit will really help boost moral for our players.”

Toy makers Character Options launched the competition in August and the prize includes progress reports on the winners in top football magazine, KiCK!.
