Overnight works cause delays on coast road

RESURFACING works have been causing delays on the coast road between Lancing and Shoreham.

Watch out for hold-ups at the Saltings Roundabout

The overnight works began at 7pm on Thursday and drivers have reported long delays.

West Sussex Highways is carrying out carriageway resurfacing at the Saltings Roundabout on the A259 Brighton Road and the work is expected to take three nights.

There are four-way signals in place between 7pm and 6am.

A spokesman said: “As part of the programme to improve the quality of residential and rural roads across the county, we will be improving the condition and safety of the Saltings Roundabout, Shoreham.

“This process will involve removing the road surface layer and replacing with new materials.”
