ST BARNABAS: Trusts and foundations provide vital support

This week I would like to tell you a little about how important charitable trusts and foundations are to St Barnabas House.

Charitable trusts and foundations come in all shapes and sizes, and give grants to all sorts of different organisations.

There are around 10,000 charitable trusts and foundations in the UK, who between them donate £2 billion in grants annually.

Some of these focus on specific areas or causes.

Since St Barnabas House first opened in 1973, we are fortunate to have been supported by a number of charitable trusts and foundations.

Whatever the size of the gift, each one is so important to us.

On average, St Barnabas House helps 100 people a day.

Many trusts and foundations have supported us generously for a number of years.

Their support means year on year we can continue to provide care to the people who need our help at a difficult time in their lives.

Some organisations will support particular areas of our work, for example, last year a number of trusts and foundations helped us to increase the capacity of the Hospice at Home night sitting service.

Others will support us to purchase particular items or equipment, such as books and medical equipment.

If you are a trustee of a charitable trust or foundation and would like to find out how you can support St Barnabas House, please visit our website at or call 01903 706330.
