ST BARNABAS: Join St Barnabas on a trek through the spiritual heart of northern India

I was very excited to recently discover that our events team are planning to hold a brand-new overseas challenge event in India.

The Dalai Lama India Trek is a challenge that will take place over the course of ten days from October 18 to 28 next year.

It will see a team of around 50 trekkers journey through the spiritual heart of northern India, home of the Dalai Lama and the centre of the Tibetan community in the foothills of the Himalayas.

We have held similar challenge events in the past, including our Inca Trek in 2012, and everyone I have spoken to who has taken part has described them as an incredible experience, physically and emotionally.

Many of those who take part in our challenge events have a very close personal connection to St Barnabas House and often have had family or friends cared for by us.

As part of the challenge, participants will also be invited to hang prayer flags at the highest point of the trek in Laka Got to celebrate the lives of loved ones and all those cared for by the hospice.

I must admit I will not be taking part myself, but I have really enjoyed taking part in our South Downs Trek for the past couple of years and I’m sure India will be a fantastic experience for all of you who do sign up.
