Worthing Parachute Regiment says thank you for donations

p On behalf of all our members of Worthing Parachute Regimental Association (PRA), we would like to sincerely thank all the residents of Worthing and surrounding districts for their kind and generous donations at our street collection on Friday, August 5.

A special thank you goes to the lady and her daughter, who went out of their way to come back and give us a thank you card.

We had four collectors and between us collected £649.62, which will be split between the Parachute Regiment Colchester Securities Fund and Worthing PRA.

It will go towards the care of ex-PARAs, who have served through the following conflicts – the Second World War, Palestine, the Canal Zone and Suez, Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Widows of ex Paras and their families are also supported where there is a need. Two new members will be joining our branch as a result of the collection.

We would like to also add that if there are any other ex-Paras out there living in Sussex who need a helping hand or who would like to join the Worthing PRA our Band of Brothers, we meet at RAFA Durrington, 74 Ashacre Lane, Durrington, Worthing, BN13 2DE. Alternatively you can phone the secretary Paul Burnett-Kirk, on 01903 717541. Our website is www.worthingpra.co.uk
