Wonders in sky

There is a particular interest in astronomy at this time of year due to the BBC’s annual Stargazing Live programmes and associated events.

Astronomy is a fascinating hobby which attracts enthusiasts of all ages. We are very lucky in Sussex to have some excellent dark sky sites where the wonders of the night sky can be seen using the naked eye, binoculars or telescopes

There are a number of Sussex-based astronomical societies that are dedicated to providing resources and assistance to those of all ages who wish to become amateur astronomers. Among these is Worthing Astronomical Society, which holds monthly meetings, a number of local viewing events, has a range of astronomical equipment for members’ use and its own observatory situated a few miles north of Worthing.
