Where will Littlehampton Waitrose site home buyers park?

It is a pity that the Waitrose site in Littlehampton has been approved with so few parking spaces, writes reader Danny Surridge, of the Littlehampton Society committee, Swanbourne Road, Wick.

Most of the incoming residents will of course have cars, no matter what they say about public transport being available.

As the town centre seems set to become more residential, where are they going to park? There is no space on surrounding roads.

Cars will be needed for the out-of-town stores along the bypass and for getting to work.

There need to be plans for the town centre to stop it becoming just corner shops and cafés.

On the subject of our planning authority, we have put ourselves through the unedifying task of watching virtual council meetings to see how the council proposes to tackle our problems.

With sympathies to the poor chairman and monitoring officer, who exactly do these noisy individuals think they represent?

We rightly expect a certain level of behaviour from those who wish to represent us, debating issues of importance should not be a brawl. Do not do it again – remember we are watching.
